Beams, Small Works & Home Extensions

As part of AC Bacon Engineering Ltd (CE accredited), we offer a comprehensive small works service to the public, builders, and main contractors across East Anglia. CE accredited.

To provide a quotation, we will require either engineers’ drawings or a list of materials showing the section sizes required and the lengths.

If you would like to pop in to either discuss face to face or to look over drawings / designs, our office is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 4.30pm. By appointment only, please contact us to ensure someone is available to see you as we may be out on a site visit.

A site visit can also be arranged if required to carry out a survey or review site access.

We provide guidance and assistance where possible to help finalise the details of what’s required and how we will produce your steelwork. Our drawing office can produce working drawings for your review prior to the manufacture of the steel for your review.

All steel-to-steel fitting and assembly bolts will be included in our quoted price.

We offer C400 zinc phosphate primer, applied in our works, as a standard. A galvanised finish can be provided as requested, this process will require the steel to be sent away and will therefore increase the lead time. We do not offer intumescent paint as an option.

We can also offer a range of bolts, fixings, anchors, and thru bolts.

Bearing / packer plates can be cut and supplied to your requirements.

We endeavour to meet your delivery requirements. Delivery dates will be subject to the extent of fabrication work required and our current fabrication programme.

An initial price for installation can be provided based off any drawings provided, however a site visit may be required to review access and to discuss any requirements. Our price will include for labour and any required pant (MEWPS, tele handler, crane hire, HIAB etc) to assist with installation. An additional cost for nets, handrailing and / or scaffolding can be provided. All our site operatives are experienced and hold the necessary certification to operate for use of plant and machinery. We provide Risk Assessment and Method of statement reports.
